Evaluate, categorise, classify, lock away: in the experimental short filmLife debts (37,000 euros, Glass Frog Films, Hamburg), Directors and Script Writer Lena Hetzel asks who the guilty parties really are in the thicket of everyday black-and-white thinking. The film processes true stories from a juvenile detention centre in a surreal dream world and thus questions the limits of human judgement. There will be three days of filming in Hamburg.

An experimental Documentary by Hamburg-based Directors and Script Writer Karimah Ashadu. InMachine Boys (25,000 euros), she investigates the informal economy of motorbike taxis in Lagos (Nigeria) and the associated themes of physical labour, patriarchy and masculinity.

Timon Ott's docu-fiction is about the inner world of a recruitThe uniformed (24,000 euros, Einbaum Film, Kronberg): The recruit is perceived as a soldier by the civilian population, but still doubts himself whether he wants to fulfil this perception. A large part of the film crew comes from Hamburg.

FUNDINGS INNOVATIVE

The projectGolems (25,000 euros, Doppel Real, Kiel) by Deborah and Dennis Reinmüller from Kiel sheds light on the Jewish folklore of the golem from the perspective of post-war generations. "Golems" is an immersive narrative journey of exploration conceived as a VR experience.
