Alea Aquarius

Series based on the young adult novels of the same name, live-action film and animation:
An orphaned teenager who has grown up believing she has a fatal disease finds out that she is actually a mermaid and her life is in danger. She flees with a group of teenagers on a sailing boat to find out the truth about her origins. Alea and her friends realise that it is up to them to save the water world from destruction.
