FUNDED PROJECTS ON SCREEN IN CANNES 2011
One FFHSH funded film was selected for the official “Cannes Classics” section, while ten further funded short and full-length films are being shown in various market sections.
Angelina Maccarone’s artful documentary film
THE LOOK – CHARLOTTE RAMPLING. A SELF PORTRAIT THROUGH OTHERS has its world premiere on Monday,
16th May 2011 in the “
Cannes Classics” section. The Franco-German co-production (Tag/Traum Filmproduktion, Cologne; Prounenfilm, Berlin; Les Films d’Ici, Paris) pays homage to Charlotte Rampling, actress and French citizen by choice. Maccarone and Hamburg-based cameraman Bernd Meiners gently capture Charlotte Rampling’s enigmatically fascinating aura in nine chapters on major themes of life, including love, death and age, and accompany her as she meets people who stand close to her in cities including Paris and Berlin. “We are very happy for Angelina Maccarone, whose first documentary film provides further evidence of her immense talent as a director,” says Eva Hubert, Executive Director of Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein.
