These two districts are located in the centre of Hamburg and attract masses of strollers to the Alster foreland at Harvestehuder Weg. Around the turn of the century magnificent mansions were built in this area, amongst them, due to the representative location, many consulates. Unfortunately, one seldom finds bars or shops in Harvestehude. The weekly market on Isestraße is the longest and possibly the most beautiful market in Hamburg, pictorially located beneath a viaduct. The high-rise buildings on Grindelallee are in stark contrast to the surrounding villas. Beautiful architecture, many parks and the Alster dominate these districts.
