His drama "The Teachers' Lounge" has won five German film awards and is entering the Oscar race for Germany - withYellow letters (450,000 euros, if... Productions Film, Munich), the new film by Director and Script Writer İlker Çatak is now in the starting blocks: In the film, the artist couple Derya and Aziz experience the arbitrariness of the Turkish state and lose their jobs overnight and with them their livelihoods. The trade-off between their ideals and the necessities of life proves to be a challenge for their marriage. The drama will have 21 days of filming in Hamburg. Çatak himself penned the script - based on a story by him, Ayda Çatak and Enis Köstepen. Shooting is scheduled to start in May 2024.

InButterfly (200,000 euros, NordFilm Kiel) by Director and Script Writer Itonje Søimer Guttormsen, two sisters embark on a dramatic journey when their mother is found dead in the mountains of Gran Canaria. The international co-production will have three days of shooting in Hamburg - filming is scheduled to start in January 2024.

Filmmaker Ildikó Enyedi ("The Story of my Wife") tells the story inSilent Friend (100,000 euros, Pandora Film, Cologne) tells three stories set in an old German botanical garden. Part of the film crew is from Hamburg, with Tony Leung Chiu-Wai ("In the Mood for Love") taking on one of the leading roles.

A look at Hamburg in the early 20th century: In the seriesHamburg Chinatown (40,000 euros), Script Writer Stefanie Ren combines thriller elements with a great love story. A further 40,000 euros will go to the seriesAncestral land (Tamtam Film, Hamburg) by a German-Namibian Writers Room (the Script Writers will be announced at a later date), which deals with the fatefully interwoven German-Namibian past, present and future of four women.
