In Fragments of Silence: A mindbending VR thriller viewers find themselves in an eerie interrogation room and dive deep into their own minds - a captivating story between deception and redemption. Visually, the experience is based on the graphic novel style and is drawn and animated in VR by VR artist Dan Franke using the "Quill" software. A particularly immersive experience is to be achieved through the use of hand tracking and volumetric capturing technology.
The jury of the "XR Pitch Battle" consisted of Ralph Heinsohn (Professor of Audiovisual Media at Aalen University, designer, Executive Producer and curator of immersive media), Britta Schewe (gretegrote Internetproduktion) and Ulrich Schrauth (Director VRHAM! Virtual Reality & Arts Festival Hamburg). All three jury members are part of the "Kurz + Innovativ" Committee of the MOIN Film Fund.

Five European teams competed against each other in the "XR Pitch Battle" last week: They each had around five minutes in a ZOOM call to convince the jury of their innovative ideas. The XR Pitch Battle took place for the third time this year. Teams from all over Europe were able to apply for the pitch from the MOIN Film Fund in the months leading up to the event. The winner of last year's edition, Lui Avallos, was shown with his project "Queer Utopia" at this year's Venice Film Festival in the "Biennale College Cinema VR" section.

MOIN Film Fund supports innovative audiovisual formats from XR experiences and 360-degree films to immersive story worlds - with grants of up to 50,000 euros per funding measure. The "Kurz + Innovativ" Committee is responsible for this and submissions for the funding of innovative moving image ideas are possible on a regular basis.
